 10 Second Journey to College

For my first piece of filming work for the course, I was asked to create a 10 Second Journey to College. This would entail my morning routine to college, perhaps including public transport, walking to CCI etc. This would show our basic abilities to put together multiple clips in editing software, I used iMovie.

To stick to the limit of 10 seconds, I decided to use the "time lapse" effect for a few of my shots. I thought this worked well in my composition, but perhaps was a bit shaky in respect to my own filming. I also tried a lower "floor" shot, to show me walking to the bus top, which I thought was very successful in my video, adding different levels to make it more intriguing. It also added a subject to the video, instead of it being all of the setting and surroundings. This is also seen in the second shot from my front door. It added different layers to my work, foregrounds middle grounds backgrounds etc.

Overall, I was very pleased with my video, and think I was intuitive in taking different shots from lower angles and hacks like the time lapse technique. I would in the future make my shots more clear and less shaky, by using the "cop grip" and placing my elbows in the middle of my torso.
