 Isolation Film

Due to my second unit of course work, my narrative film, being cut short due to Covid-19 and therefore being unable to collect the footage I need and interview anyone, my teacher set an assignment of making a one minute "Day in Isolation" film to keep things ticking over. Much like my music video for "Being Here" by Mammal Hands, I though this would be a good opportunity to further my skills with editing on Premier.  I thought I would make this video quite stylised, and use the sounds from my day to create  soundscape for the video, including birds chirping, my dog and the bees pollinating. I used lots of overlay shots for this piece, as I like the look of this technique and find it more interesting than full screen shots, although it tricky when it comes to rescaling. I filmed most of the footage in one day, and used some of the footage from my previous video of one of my walks, plus some more I collected on the day before. Being in quarantine made filming this video slightly more difficult, as I like having a subject in my videos but unfortunately couldn't meet any of my friends due to social distancing so used my dog instead. I do find that with being isolated, I focus more on searching  techniques on you tube with how to further my abelites, so this is on one hand a plus. Overall, I like the flow of the piece, and thing the overall colour pallet and style is pleasing to the eye.
