To further my understanding of character archetypes in film, and hopefully gain an understanding of the different types of character I could have in my film, we were asked to look at different characters types from films we have already watched. I found this very interesting and helpful, as I wasn't aware of the different categories characters fall into, and how often these overlap with each other. For example the shadow archetype is often correlated with the villain archetype, with Darth Vader acting as a shadow for Luke Skywalker. Some of them were more difficult than others, for example the Advocate was hard to find, and the Alchemist was harder, but I found that the alchemist and the magician were the same thing.
